Esperanto is the most widely spoken constructed international auxiliary language in the world. It was developed in 1887 by L. L. Zamenhof with the goal of serving as a universal second language to facilitate global communication. Zamenhof introduced the language in a book titled Dr. Esperanto’s International Language (Unua Libro), which he published under the pen name “Doktoro Esperanto.” Early users of the language took a liking to the pseudonym and adopted “Esperanto” as the name of the language itself. In English, “Esperanto” means “one who hopes.”
Neolatino Romance, often referred to simply as Neolatino (known in Neolatin as Romance neolatino), is a constructed pan-Romance language. It is a standardized linguistic form derived from the Romance languages, designed to facilitate communication across the Romance-speaking world. Proposed as a common auxiliary language for Romance language speakers, Neolatino was developed as a linguistic project without any political or nationalistic agenda.
