This comedic short was made for the weekly one-minute Kick The Ladder filmmaking challenge in Atlanta, GA. The rules that week were #KTL50R so we had seven days and the camera(s) could not move more than 5 feet away from a selected point. This film has subtitles in English and Esperanto.

Almost every prize in last year’s American Good Film Festival was given to a Kick The Ladder filmmaker taking a stab at Esperanto filmmaking. Those directors are so used to dealing with short deadlines, short runtime restrictions, and random rule assignments that for most of them, making a 5-minute Esperanto film was a walk in the park. This “Double Date” short film was inspired by the “Pellet with the Poison” scene from the 1955 film The Court Jester, starring Danny Kaye and Glynis Johns. On a different week, we remade that scene as a KTL film, but this time with a modern-day Casino Royale setting instead of a medieval one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tE5C6MCdjaE
