Here’s a playlist of every Esperanto short film made in Atlanta that has won a prize in The American Good Film Festival over the last five years. The rules for this year’s short films are that they had to be less than five minutes long and entirely in Esperanto with at least ten unique spoken words and they had to include a visible spoon.
1st Place – $1200
2nd Place – $800
3rd Place – $600
4th – 10th Place – $200 Each
Audience Choice – $200
Honorable Mentions – $100 Each

What is the American Good Film Festival?
This international short film contest was started by Alex Miller in March 2021 as a way for Esperanto speakers to connect with each other during the pandemic. With the help of Esperantic Studies Foundation and other donors, it has steadily grown and its prizes have quadrupled from their original size. This contest encourages Esperanto speakers to try their hand at filmmaking and gives a reason for filmmakers to try out a language they might want to use again in future projects. It has produced over 200 films in Esperanto (which would take over 12 hours to watch) and by the end of this month, it will have given out over $21,000 in cash prizes.
