Here’s a video that gives you a taste of what working at the Paul Bunyan Amusement Center was like while growing up in Minnesota. The person working the register would get the names and hometown of the kids from the parents buying the tickets while the kids ran up to the statue. In Minnesota, the city of Bemidji has a non-speaking, not-animatronic statue of Paul Bunyan that is standing up and technically taller, but folks in Brainerd argue that if their 26-foot-tall statue WERE to stand up, he would be roughly 40 feet tall which makes him intrinsically taller and cooler and therefore the official Paul Bunyan representative of the American Midwest. I will not be taking questions.
