If you’d like to modify your Nintendo Wii console, you can do so without needing any special disk (which the Smash Stack method requires) if you just use the LetterBomb hack. It sends a message to your Wii message board to install the Homebrew Channel and allows you to bypass the normal Wii menu and load games by using the wired Gamecube controller and USB Loader. Make sure to select the correct region when typing in your MAC address because it default assumes you’re using a European model.
